East to Saskatoon

So…. a lot has happened since our last show! and it’s also been a very long time since our last official show! With Gully no longer in the band and taking Wil (second guitarist) with him to focus on shreddin’ onions, The Empire hired back the original bass player Trev DePagie.

We invaded Saskatoon for our first out of province show. Opening for Saskatoon’s Slypstreme, we were givin a very warm welcome and shown hospitality from begining to end. Our show was at the Roxy on broadway, a decent venue with a great sound and happens to be owned and operated by a couple of Romanian Gypsy’s ( good guys! ). We did close to a hour set surprising the crowd with how ‘heavy’ we were.

The set was our first time covering two songs from the 90′s called ‘Pure Massacre’ and ‘Dirty Magic’.  Aside from my three hours of sleep the night before and all of us being a little hungover, We held it down and rocked out! A few mistakes were made between us on stage but everybody said they loved us and couldn’t tell.

We made a couple contacts including someone from a radio station and a few new fans. To sum it all up… Saskatoon was a blast and I would gladly play there again!

Thanks to all the friends and fam that came out that night and filled the bar, ya’ll rock!!!
