The Empire Assassins have been jamming away! They are getting ready to record new songs and play some gigs, but for the present, they are practicing with their new bassist, Jay. So far, so good! Keep checking back to see updates on the guys!

So Marc Emery came through town on July 9, 2009 during his farewell tour across Canada. After his speech downtown we headed to the city's newest hemp store for an after party, believe it is called underground 420. We were playing a few songs at the front of the store, when Marc came outside I called him over and explained that we had a song about him 'If you wanna'. We were itching to play live again so we went to an open mic at Filthy McNasty’s. Once again, we were the loudest, heaviest band performing that day. All went well, the pub was a lil’ empty but it was great to play again!
We played our first show which was held in Jasper, AB at the Mcready Centre. The show was a fundraiser to build a school in Kenya. We started our show by joining Brittany Gelmici for a couple of songs. It was suppose to be at a hotel but was moved to the Mcready centre due to booking errors. Aside from all the christians leaving when we began playing, I’d say the show went rather well! A few friends and family members came out to the show so it kind of felt like home. We were the loudest heavy band there by far!!!
